Packaging in a lot of cases is the first point of contact when customers see your product on shelf, I am guilty as I am sure many others are, of buying a product based on the aesthetic of its packaging. Maybe that’s because I love beautiful packaging. Packaging serves many purposes but it has to sell the product. Packaging has to engage it’s target market and be a brand experience from the moment its seen in-store through to the moment of unboxing and using or consuming.

We are living in the age of social media, social media is the direct line of communication to your customer base. We have the luxury of being able to engage with our target market like never before. Social media is a great tool to spread brand awareness, create marketing campaigns and advertise events. What can I bring to the table? Print is a beautiful form of communication, it’s tangible and tactile. A brochure, business card or catalogue can really make an impact on your customers. It’s something physical that represents your business, that customers can hold on to. I personally like to keep flyers from special days out or tickets from music festivals.

Point of Sale can be a fantastic tool to draw customers in to your product range, housing the packaging and product within a counter top display unit or within a larger free-standing display unit in-store, draws attention and engagement to the product. Housing a range of products within a display also encourages multiple purchases because it is easy for the customer to see the range as a whole. This is also a chance to spotlight the brand and create opportunity for brand engagement.

Animation and video can offer so much in todays digital age, creating an immersive experience to your customers screens. Social media favours videos and the more that social media evolves, the more prominent video online becomes. You only have to look at the introduction of Facebook and Instagram reels and TikTok to see this happening in real time. And even the older video platforms are still extremely popular.
